    Australian test selection 2018/19

I couldn't help but laugh listening to Ed Cowan speaking (after quite a few red wines) at a dinner suggest that his test XI for this series would have been the same as what we got but with Carey in for Paine and Cummins captaining. Carey's nowhere near ready.

Anyone see Richardon's ball to get Sangha? Yikes

    Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

We've got to get Chappell out of everything. His ideology has single handedly ruined the pathway system and I'd guess turned many potential international talents away from cricket.

Tasmanian top order would be feeling pretty dirty, yikes. Those Copeland balls were rank

Surely he's in line for a baggy green if '30s ratio' is the new determinant?

    Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

He couldn't have fulfilled the script any better. I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad.

    Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

I'm still not sold. The wrongun is clearly excellent (perhaps I had more faith in shield players to pick it - or Joe Burns to not play around it despite picking it) but the four leg break wickets were pretty lucky. Marnus slashed at a ball he really shouldn't have, Doggett/Swepson are tailenders...

    Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

Cooper dropped to make way for Head, then brought back because Ferg's injured. Can't think of a player who's been luckier with reprieves than Coops. Been essentially on the edge of oblivion for years now, hanging on by the skin of his teeth. Has a lean run, about to get dropped, Australian...

    Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

Had a bad season a couple of years ago but had the tricks. Pace through the air was excellent and serious revs with a serviceable wrongun and excellent flipper. Would have played the last shield game for tasmania last season if not for being in the middle of the outback on fieldwork when the...

    Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

There's not much. Andrews isn't a four day bowler, Cormack's no good and the two with the most upside left (O'Connell -> Vic & Logan -> Tas). Kerber and Drew had good Redbacks leagues, but neither are really good enough. It's a tough one. I probably wouldn't play one

    Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

I get that, but you can still look at what he's doing and extrapolate etc.. He's getting less revs (in fact, there was talk the other week about the testing they did of the young leggies and he was a few hundred revs off the best - and that's in SA), very little control and succeeding due to an...

    Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

Has anyone else had the displeasure of sitting through the SA/NSW live stream and having to endure Lloyd Pope's bowling? Literally as raw as the onion's Tony Abbott eats. He's meant to be the future?

Has there ever been a worse 2nd innings side with the bat? You just knew that even on that road they'd have found a way to make themselves look like fools today.

I think we might just have put out the worst attack the shield has ever seen. I just don't get how Worrall gets games either.

Burns is a jet. Hearing that Richo, Worrall and Zampa made themselves unavailable this week. Probably explains why Lawford is playing (though it's genuinely offensive that he is). Perfect week for it to happen with the test match on I guess as I won't have to sit through his offensive cricket...

cricket.com.au the other day had the games listed to start on tuesday 9th. Now it's back to friday 5th so I've got no idea anymore. At least SACA despite all their faults were pretty clear with shifting the grade/t20 games; it'd be handy if CA decided soon.

Just went to our clubs sponsor pub for lunch after a round and all the red backs/torrens boys were there. Straight away hit me right in the feels, all clearly devastated but banding together for Phil.
