    *Official* Australia in India 2010

I was just reading an article on Rickey Ponting, saying he thought Bollinger not bowling the overs he usually does, was a big difference. He stated it would have been nice to have another quick to turn to. Yet, Watson only got 6 overs in the 1st and 2 overs in the 2nd innings. Not saying Watto...

    The Aamer Situation

Well, match fixing has a bigger effect than spot fixing! You disagree with that? Well, I do agree a life ban would be best for cricket! But I don't think a life ban is a proper punishment for Amir.

    The Aamer Situation

I agree the line between the two is blurry. But that is no reason to simply treat them the same! Just like society doesn't send the same sentences to theives of 10 euros and thieves of 1.000.000 euros. Where to draw the line there? It's always arbitrary! Yet, there is a clear difference between...

    The Aamer Situation

I do think it is the best for Cricket, if spot-fixers get life bans. However, I don't think giving an 18 year old spot-fixer a life ban is apropriate. In regular criminal law, judges also try to find a balance between the interest of society and a properly fitting punishment. I totally...

    ***Official*** Spot-Fixing Scandal

Let's assume for a moment there is firm evidence, and that ICC & PCB acknowledge this. What then? Does the ICC have clear laws or jurisprudence for how to deal with spot fixers? Or will the level of punishment be made up for such a case? There are quite some people stating life bans are proper...

Maybe we'll see another great 8th wicket partnership :) . Yet, even a 300 partnership wouldn't make things look good for Pak.

I can see your point, but to prove things, you have to show it actually bends.... Edit: What are we discussing...... This was just an amazing, really amazing, day of Test Cricket!

Enjoying this! What a shame YoMo was left out so many matches! He's proving again that he should simply be first pick when considering the Pak batting line-up. Good fifty, and what's more, this partnership has really lifted the balance to "advantage Pakistan".

Tail-ender? You still think he is a nightwatchman ;) ? Here is a list of Pak players, sorted on batting average, so far this series: Mohammad Yousuf (Pak) Saeed Ajmal (Pak) Zulqarnain Haider (Pak) Umar Gul (Pak) Yasir Hameed (Pak) Wahab Riaz (Pak) Danish Kaneria (Pak) Imran Farhat (Pak)...

I like the idea of a proper batsman seeing off a good spell and waiting for 15 deliveries to get off the mark, without panicking. That's what good test cricket is about imho: Defend the good deliveries and wait and wait and wait for the odd crap ball, just to smack it away for four!

*Official* Road to the 2010/11 Ashes

Whether this England team is the best in the last 5 years is debatable. Otoh, the Aussies most defenitely have NOT the best team of the last 5 years.

*Official* Road to the 2010/11 Ashes

A whitewash needs a special team. A team with the greatest spinner of all time, a top 5 all-time seamer of all time, a top 5 keeper / batsman of all time, completed with one of the the finest opening couples and some other greats might do it. In other words, it happened in 2006/7, but won't most...

Randiv is getting too much criticism. He bowled 4 perfectly OK deliveries first. The first resulted in the 4 byes, the 2nd was actually converted to a dead ball by Sehwag himself, and then 2 dot balls followed. It's not like Sehwag was denied any chance to get to his 100.... Apart from that...

I just tuned in at 183/3 after 34 overs. That's quite a good show so far by NZ. However, reading this forum, 250 seems to be a good score.... Well, what is it?
