Second highest partnership of the innings.....

Yeah. Just checked his stats. He has 600 FC runs at 20+. Fair enough for #10.

McCullum let that one slip through, in order to fatigue the English bowlers, right?

    They're trying!

Maybe I'm just overexcited, but aren't we probably going to see the best session in the series? The ball still new, the air filled with clouds. NZ have a great opportunity to bowl themselves to a handy lead, just so they can bat in fair weather. But if England manage to survive for an hour, they...

Well, I can't tell what selectors think about Hales. It's my opinion he should open for England. And he isn't an aggresive batsman as FC cricketer.

Agreed. I am worried about his fielding though. Probably just a coincidence.

Last year, both Lythe and Hales had very good FC seasons. I think you're both wrong :D : -Lythe is more than you think he is -There is an alternative.

Reading fairy tales? Once upon a time there were blue skies in Leeds.... On a serious note: early start to make up for lost overs?

I can see why a more conservative approach would work for many, but not for all. So, you have a fait point. Yet, I'm convinced he can do better.

Too many really, really dumb dismissals for my liking

Yeah, but it did give Nasser Hussain the opportunity to say "Southee the happy hooker is gone".

287/7 looks so very much 90 overs, but it's been only 60.......

Funny game. He's been good (I think), but then suddenly survived a gazillion edges, drops, good calls, reviews, and what more. Oh, there goes Ronchi too. Pulling it straight to a dude that was exactly there in case he would pull it there. Cheap trick, dumb ****. Crap, this match was shaping up...

On Anderson: I just checked his bio & stats. He'll probably become third on the fast bowlers list. Unless Steyn overtakes hom, of course.

First of all: I'm Dutch, so, there is no remembering them. Apart from that, Korfbal is, according to most here, considered ridiculous, in many different ways. Please don't metion it again!

Being a cricketer in Holland (only 5000 cricketers here, including foreigners and women), I often find myself in a position to explain (or defend) that cricket is not the uber-gay tea drinkers sport that stops with any hint of rain. The simple answer "think of tennis" mostly does it.

    Tennis comes to mind.

Yeah, makes sense. Other thing I'm wondering: Is it still clouded?
