Wellington Firebirds sign Australian import Evan Gulbis for Twenty20 competition; FFS, and they wonder why they can't develop any home grown talent. Signing mediocre Aussie players won't help them win this comp either. They signed a couple shockers a few years ago, I can't even remember their...

I wouldn't be against Munro getting a run, as long as he has developed his game against spin. Has been made to look silly at times. If he's able to bowl, even better.

Please no Henry Nicholl's.. He'd be a walking wicket vs Starc, doesn't have the foot movement to deal with pace. Or any good pace bowlers. I'd probably go; Latham Guppy KW Munro Watling (to swap with Munro if there are early wickets) Neesham CDG Santner Southee Boult Lockie We really are...

Left Handed Peter Ingram. Peter bossed domestics for a while, so there is hope for you Henry.

Pakistan's snail pace over rate will cost us 12+ overs today. That's potentially 50 runs, and probably the difference between NZ being able to declare over night. Pretty poor really.

Yup, I'd be going to a lead of 350. That should be done by mid/early tomorrow morning at the latest. Ideally we push the run rate and send them in for a couple overs tonight, but I don't think we'll get there.

Would much rather see a CDG Eden Park Outer Oval style domination. That would be extremely entertaining, instead of the 200 balls required for Nicholls to scratch and edge his way to a tonne.

Taylor lucky by the sounds of it. Will be a huge innings for Nicholl's. If he looks all at sea once again, on a flat pitch, an old ball, against 4 130km seamers, I think he should be put back into domestic and work on his footwork. Brownlie and Will Young to put heaps of pressure on with...

Nicholls looks so slow in his movements, concrete shoes. I just can't see him being test standard.. Hope he proves me wrong today.

You should check out Rhance's wicket in the current match. Crazy swing.

Likely New Zealand squad: Kane Williamson (captain), Tom Latham, Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, Colin Munro, Colin de Grandhomme, Jimmy Neesham, BJ Watling, Mitchell Santner, Todd Astle, Tim Southee, Matt Henry, Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson. Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson set to be unleashed on...

Doug must be a great guy off the field. He seems to make most squads, without actually wickets in tests/ODI's, or completely dominating in domestics. But, as you guys have said, as long as it's 12th man duties and Henry coming into the side, all good. Ferguson and Jamieson must have been...

If a half blind Ross Taylor is in the top 5 batsman in the country, I'd be worried.

8 wickets :O And Munro tonks another tonne. He's our version of Maxwell, ridiculous when on form, and absolutely at sea when not.

Canterbury contract a confidence booster | Stuff.co.nz 2.03cm, so about 6 foot 8, 5 cm taller than both Oram and Fulton, and 7cm taller than Morne Morkel. If he played for NZ, he'd be 2nd equal the tallest player to play international cricket, behind Mohammad Irfan (tied with Bruce Reid and...

If Brownlie performs, it would put serious pressure on Nicholls. Which is good, prefer Brownlie over Ronchi. Loving seeing Jamieson have a great start to the season, some tall timber would be awesome in the BC's. Still very fresh, but who knows in a season or 2. Hope he doesn't have the early...

Yeah sorry I was more talking in general. He's showed talent with the ball in international cricket, which counts for something. To measure ODI vs Test cricket is a different thing altogether. I'd trust him to hold an end, but not a front liner.

55 ODI wckets @ 25 would say he is actually pretty good. Exceptional for an all rounder. Neesh seems very ineffective however. Needs to develop some swing or seam. He has the talent to be a good No 6 and 4th seamer. I wonder if we'll ever see a effective combo of these 2 in our Test middle...

Thanks for that, always thought something must be rotten up in Auckland. With that many cricketers, and playing Grobs and Quinn week in week out (last season, add Hutch this season) didn't make sense.

I'd go Brownlie or Young to No 4. Give them both a couple net sessions vs the seamers and see who comes out better.
