It's hard to maintain confidence when you are fairly used to losing which they are now. Any setback must look like a slippery slope.

He's dropped a bit short this innings, not as short as Clarke admittedly. Good experience for him bowling to these guys. I wish Clarke would allow longer spells for the seamers. Well, at least Johnson and Copeland as neither of them are being hit around.

He's under 30 now for bowling. :D What is it with Aussie part-timers? The only one recently with a really duff average was Steve Smith.

I thought there was a bit of sound and it deviated? Didn't think it would get given though. Hussey should retire after this series, it's all downhill from here.

I'm not getting Pakweb v Zimcric, I'm getting Aussies v Lankies.

Clarke's done a good job but I wish he'd give Copeland longer spells. He's not like Harris, you can bowl and bowl him.

I'm not sure that's ever going to happen, you can see why the Indians don't fancy technology when it's all over the place provision wise. Daryl Harper not being around should automatically help tech be applied more accurately though. I've never seen such weird **** going on as when he was the...

His arm is pretty poor for a test level player. Not used to that in an Aussie.

Tough call to overturn. The players know what is available so if they want to challenge those sorts of calls it's up to them. The bowling has been good so far, not much luck around though.

Gee, Harris is a good new ball bowler. Bloody lovely over to start off.

I thought Chappell was still over there selecting with Clarke. Or do I have that wrong?

If I'd played alongside Punter and watched him lose the plot on various occasions plus having been brainwashed about how he's the best Aus batsmen since Bradman, icon, legend and all that, I don't think I'd be game. Can't see Clarke having the front either.

Exactly how unlucky has Hughes been? Since the Perth test, he's mostly got out nicking to wickie or slips. That's not unlucky. Tha'ts just getting out.

Why would one innings over-ride the choices made at the beginning of the series? The selectors must believe that Ussie and Hughes are worth persisting with. I'd love it if Marsh was given even half the chances that Hughes is getting because I far prefer watching him but I can't see it...

If Marsh had had the record so far in test cricket that Hughes has had, I'm sure you wouldn't be sugarcoating it. He has scored one 50 since his second test. Despite that I think he should be given at least till the end of SA as they made such a statement by ditching Kat. And they seem to...

Muss and Copes can share it.

To be consistent they have to bench Marsh. He's only filling in, Hughes is supposed to be bedding in for the next Ashes - daft idea but there it is - and Ussie was the next off the rank, now that they've got rid of Smith the chancer. I hope the new baby is making Punter really happy because if...

Johnson has possibly given me more amusement than any Aus player I've ever watched. He's such a complete nong. A nong with an ICC Player of the Year award. There's never been anyone like him.

Yes, I keep thinking about that, but North had always been an all or nothing player that's why he has so many first class tons. Shaun Marsh is different kettle of fish. It will be interesting to see him bat if he stays in the team. That will be a different sort of pressure again.

The leave by Watson gets better with each viewing. That ball was aimed right at the stumps. They just need to keep doing that.
