    ***Official*** English Domestic Season 2015

Not only the best for the county's third wicket (beating Atherton and Fairbrother in that 1990 match at the Oval) but their highest for any wicket. List: The Home of CricketArchive

Lancashire threatening the record books as the Petersen/Prince partnership goes past 400. No bowling points for Glamorgan in the 110 overs they sent down. Although as the Glam commentator wryly mentioned, at least Lancs are still some way short of their best total of 863.

Kent 99 all out at the Oval, will be challenging Leics for the wooden spoon this year it seems. Four cheap wickets for Batty and eight in the match on debut for Curran Minor.

The new Hollioakes? Sam bowled Denly with his fourth ball in first-class cricket. Speedy elevation for the lad who only made his T20 debut recently. Don't know what's up with Balcombe, just a handful of games for the seconds this year.

Perhaps he did a rain dance - I suppose from time to time Lancashire have reason to be grateful for the famous Manchester climate.

And they wrap it up on the stroke of seven with one ball left to play. The way Footitt was swinging at the end I don't think he wanted to come back tomorrow. :D

Surrey claiming the extra half hour - Derby losing their seventh with an over to go did for them.

No alarms in the end for Essex, they kept Ryder back to no. 7 and he and Westley saw them home. Five down at Derby - hopefully the weather will behave tomorrow and we wrap it up before lunch. Yorkshire's fourth-wicket partnership now more than Notts' total. Ton up for Leaning.

Somerset on the brink of a win, Essex wobbling in pursuit of 114. And Derby chasing an unlikely 348 against Surrey. Not since 1985 have they made more than 300 to win. Cook out first ball today.

    ***Official*** English Domestic Season 2015

Sussex on the brink of a surprisingly easy win against Worcs - and equally surprising to see that Shahzad's 5-45 is the best of his career to date. Just three five-fors in 82 previous matches for a one-time England bowler.

Two, even - Croft appeared early in his tenure.

    12th Match - Afghanistan v Sri Lanka

They really need to use an edited version of the Lankan anthem - that's three minutes I'll never get again.

The new Cricket Web is launched!

Not sure if this is the place to mention it, but if you go to Book Reviews, on p 3 Archie's review of Australia '55 is shown twice.

    Why Simmo Answered The Call

Coincidence possibly (I wrote it to time with a new Australia - India series), but it wouldn't be the first time Cricinfo have borrowed ideas from this site. I thought Thomson was the vice-captain for the India series, perhaps to ensure future loyalty, but the article states it was Craig...

    Big Bash League 2014/15

Just watching this now on Sky ... we're used to seeing fielders miked up for TV, but I've never seen it done with a batsman before. I know KP was at the non-striker's end, but it can only be a matter of time before they're talking to the batsman on strike as the bowler's running in.

    Cricket Books

Recently had about 15 books passed on to me by a Kent-supporting pal who was having a clear-out: around a year's worth of reviews, right there. Among them is one called The White Horse and the Kangaroo, the history of matches between Kent and the Australians. Reading that will make me nostalgic...

    Steve Smith vs Angelo Mathews

Mathews now, but Smith I see as the more likely to hit 15 (or more) Test 100s.

**Official** Pakistan v New Zealand in the UAE 2014

Out of nowhere, Rahat Ali suddenly has pretty good figures. I wonder if anyone's taken a Test 5-for without bowling a maiden?
