At least you got your 350 - just. You can see why Sky picked the game they did, but in terms of runs and wickets it was the most boring of the lot today. Hopefully the sun will come out tomorrow and enable some more fluent cricket. By this time tomorrow we should have a pretty good idea who's...

Essex 198-3 at stumps - Browne has had a very good season and Foster got a ton in the last game of course, so expect them to make plenty more. With the forecast good, it's hard to see how Worcs can escape. Extraordinary capitulation from a team that was chasing the D2 title going into this game.

Successive tons for Ervine - certainly finding batting form at the right time.

They did - but if he couldn't manage a wicket against Ireland it's hard to see how he would have coped against stronger opponents. And is it not summer anymore? Sun's been shining here. Cut the grass earlier and had a couple of refreshing tipples in the garden afterwards.

9 down at Chelmsford could mean a delayed lunch.

Pujara out 'handled the ball' at Derby!

Fightback from Worcs, it looked as if Essex would be batting by lunch at one point. I'm tipping Gloucs to make the day's lowest total now.

Ryder doing most of the damage - what a season he's had with the ball - is he more of a swinger or seamer?

210 runs made for 16 wickets in all matches - only Derbyshire's openers still there. But they are playing Leicester.

The other Aussie was the one they really want though. A few early wickets around today - Worcs, Gloucs and Durham all two or three down for under 20.

I had no idea he'd made so many - that's an awesome performance. He seems to be playing the best cricket of his career now - did the England call come too soon? Leading run-scorers in f-c cricket with a match to go (for most) - Vince's three tons from 26 innings seems rather a let-down after...

Eight down at Trent Bridge, with a possible 13 overs left ... I assume prize money is riding on this one.

They're about to shake hands at the Aegeas Bowl it seems. Looked like a Kent win when the 9th wicket fell though.

Nah, two Divs came in around 2000 IIRC. Perhaps he just meant "since I can remember" - it seemed a bit of a rush job. A quote from the star man would have been welcome.

Cricinfo, reporting on Rushworth, stating "only two bowlers have ever taken a full set [ten in an innings] in the Championship, Middlesex's Richard Johnson in 1994 and Ottis Gibson for Durham in 2007 when he claimed 10 for 47 against Hampshire." Which is utter rubbish of course.

Well done to Rushworth and Durham but to be bowled out in 17 overs is a disgrace. No-one even lasted 20 balls.

Eventful day at the Oval ... Surrey failing to get a batting point, Footitt another 6-for, Dernbach going for 58 off 11 ... oh well another year in D2. Hants and Essex to slug it out for the second promotion spot. I wonder if Sky will bother, though.

Heh, didn't expect that at Derby. Can't affect Worcester's promotion chances though surely? Well, looking at the table, it certainly could - it's tight at the top in D2. Worcester's home game against Surrey next week will probably settle matters - Surrey need to win their last two it seems.
