    A Complex Man

I've said as much before, but David Foot's book The Reasons Why is highly recommended.

Anyone know the likelihood of a resumption at Old Trafford? They need another 23 balls for a result.

Bounced out by Munro - it's going from bad to worse. At least they don't need to slog.

We have been absolute pants since Roy got out. Pietersen out in the 20s yet again. Just needs two batsmen to get their heads down and play properly, can't be too much to ask surely?

Struggled to chase a similar target against Middlesex recently but that wasn't a 'must win' game - hopefully the situation will concentrate a few minds. McClenaghan is the main threat here I feel and just seeing him off without a wicket will be a big plus.

Not recently, but Botham and Hendrick were regulars in the slips with Willis not far away at gully.

Happy for him to be playing ODIs/T20s, but he's playing Test cricket at least a year too soon IMO. Wicket for Root just underlines that pretty much everything has gone England's way today. By the way I looked back at the last day of the Lord's Test and you all missed it: Root 66.

Yeah, I've been hoping for three a session, and we're on course. Kohli in indifferent form too. Interesting stat just came up on TMS: only Gavaskar in 1979 has made more runs opening for India in England, than Vijay in this series.

REAL MEN WATCH CRICKET >>>> What do you think of this Cricket Tee, Please comment

I watch cricket, but then I also eat quiche, so I don't know if I'm real or not.

Moeen Ali and the 'Free Gaza' wrist band

It was a long time ago I know, but I believe that the likes of John Arlott and David Sheppard were reprimanded for speaking out against Aparthied in the 'sixties, or at least discouraged from doing so.

Even if Ishant is able to play in the next Test Pankaj might get another go - Shami hasn't done much after all.

Pujara gone. Always rather an unlucky type of dismissal I think - he wasn't playing at the ball, just trying to get out of the way. And Broad goes past Brian Statham.

I wonder whether he asked Moores or Cook what they thought about it before putting it on. I don't think there needs to be any punishment as such, just a word from the match referee this morning to remind him that that sort of thing's not allowed. Does he have it on today?

Yeah Joss could be in the 90s in a couple of overs at this rate - Cook wouldn't call them in then, would he?

Jadeja's figures today: 14-1-67-0. Pleased at the way we've gone after him.

Is Jimmy the lunch-watchman? Great knock from Ballance.

Enjoyed a few late cuts from Bell today. About time he got three figures too. Over 100 scored already this morning.

Yep, 54 from 13 this morning - expect Jadeja on soon to try and dry up the run rate.

Have any of the seamers tried going round the wicket to Ballance? Has to be worth a shot.

Been impressed with Pankaj, don't think he'll be waiting much longer for a wicket. Not sure what Holding's talking about though - "not many people can afford to take time off work." Most of us have paid annual leave, after all.
