*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

International Captain
England have for a large part dominated much of the series.
England it would be fair to say have been the better team.
Australia will hold onto the ashes though.

Not Bairstow no, but they wasted the best part of an hour knowing the rain was coming and they needed wickets just so he could get a few photos and a confidence boost.
Chances are that had England declared when Broad was out, say, Australia would just caught England up, five wickets down. There just wasn't enough time to win.

I think he'll play because we could be short on numbers.

Broad has played every test this summer, Woakes has a knock and Wood is always doubtful for back to back tests.

If Robinson is fit, I think we'll play him, Tongue and Jimmy.
No reason to think Broad won't be fit. If Wood can't play back to back Tests, I think they'd need to play Tongue just for something different. Robinson should return. Top level sport shouldn't be sentimental. If England have four fit bowlers before Anderson, he shouldn't play.

I wouldn't have played Jimmy in this test, Tongue should have played.

We did it everyone, we defeated BazBall in the most underwhelming way possible. Always knew this series was going to be a waste of time.

Good trolling by Australia this match. Looking hopeless when the rain was coming to save them.

I give them an A+.

Honestly even though only one side can win it means an absolute lot. Aus will wanna win a series here for the first time in 20 years and England don’t wanna lose a series under mcullum
Honestly don’t care. Maybe/ hopefully feel different by Thursday.

harry brook suddenly dead batting late day 2 was strange.
this was the time stokes needed to make an early bazball declaration.

anyways, cant be basing your whole cricket off rain, england just got unlucky

moeen will probably retire after the world cup, should announce a second retirement just to make the oval test more of an event:no2:

I do hope this Test draws a terminal line through the idea of not playing a specialist spinner unless the pitch is literally the same colour as the outfield. An okay part timer is never a good enough substitute.
I'm okay with it if the best specialist you have is basically Agar standard, but yeah there's no need for this when you have Murphy. Just need the captain to actually... bowl him.
