lol that was bad. Stokes has to do more than he does. Others also, but Stokes the most obvious.

Going back to the team that played in the world t20 final looks good in theory, but you need to keep moving forward as a team. Shoulda played Mills or Wood. They were left with basically only one bowler who likes bowling in the first powerplay (Willey) and you get **** like Jordan having to bowl the second over of the innings.

Really not that good a summer. Beat a poor Sri Lanka, but drew the tests with a good Pakistan, and lost the T20 to Pakistan.

Holy jeebers....Just watched the recording.. what a **** annihilation.

I swear every time I watch Root he fails and every time I miss it he tons up... uncanny.

I don't think Jordan is quite as good as some here make out either...

I would be getting that Sam Billings lad into the T20 team though...he can play.

The last two matches showed that Pakistan is showing some promise of positive changes in white ball cricket under the new coach.

Jeez you're a hard man to please, they were good just inconsistent in patches, will be better in the long term with more experience. Also agree billings should in the shorter format, good player.

Agree, it's really been a bit of a mystery they've been as bad as they have for as long as they have given their natural talent for white-ball cricket. I suppose they've tactically so inept which is the problem.

I'd be shocked if their was more Jordan backers than critics on here or many places online to be fair.

I think at times he gets too much flack, but ultimately I don't think he is that great of a bowler, good at death at times, but really has somewhat lived of that super over v Pakistan.

It was a dull move by England to leave Mills and Wood on the pitch who I feel may end up offering England more long term than Jordan.

I'd be annoyed at Morgan also, crap innings, but heh his spot rarely seems to be under review outside here.

Pakistan will be happy with that obviously, however if I was Azhar I'd be a little uneasy, a bad ODI series v West Indies and the powers in charge won't be long calling for Sarfraz to get the captaincy which would you consider how vibrant and how they outsmarted England mightn't be the worst idea they ever had.

Misbah as good a job he has done is partly responsible for Pakistan limited overs woes. After 2010 it was consciously decided the management will back safe players over the flair players and in limited overs cricket it is important there is some flair and aggression in the side. The biggest hit came in 2014 when Ajmal and Hafeez his two best odi bowlers were banned for chucking and the two new ball rule was implemented which took reverse swing out of odi cricket. Pakistan strategy of conserving wickets till the 40th over and then going all out attack was extremely out dated and never worked all these factors contributed to steady decline of the limited overs team.

There is still a lot of work to be done and Pakistan is still a long way off from being a top 6 side let alone be top 3 I maintain Mickey Arthur's biggest challenge will be how he can shape the odi side over the net 6-9 months as the test side will continue to stay Misbah's property till he retires.

Great end to a very satisfactory tour. Tetss were brilliant arguably the best test series since AUS-SAF 2014 in odi's we saw the continued rise of the English odi side in the end Pakistan showed some fight and bounced back well with some newcomers especially Imad and Hassan showing a lot of promise.

8/10

The best I get to with Jordan is 'has an actual purpose to his existence' and that makes me probably his biggest supporter here

Jordan should be a specialist death bowler. The idea that he would take the new ball when we have Wood/Mills in the squad is absolutely ridiculous.

Really enjoyable series. Much more than I thought it would be when I started the thread. Really hope they re-arrange the itinerary for the next time Pak tours in 2018. 2-Tests would be a travesty.

Does anyone know the dates for next summer btw? Heard Bumble mentioning on commentary that this time next year would Tests vs WI.

Jordan was panned by almost everyone until he started bowling well at the death, which culminated in a great World t20 that meant his improvement couldn't be dismissed. Bizarre comment.

Stokes and Jordan I think are in the team for their fielding also. It's a pretty ropey fielding team already. Ali, Rashid, Hales, Roy are all mistake prone and Roy aside are all unathletic. Jordan and Stokes are probably their best two outfielders. Probably gets them selected.

Ideally long term you'd prefer to have one good fielder out of Roy and Hales because neither bowls . If you've got two average fielders as batsman the fielding team is generally not going to be great given that you always have some bowlers who are cumbersome or slow. Roy gets put at point early innings but is kinda out of his depth there judging by the mistakes he does make.

Least that's my theory on why they keep getting selected and Jordan keeps making the ODI squad.

91Jmay did when we were debating T20 sides recently if you must know :p
I said he is a good death bowler. Which he is. Have never advocated him bowling inside the first 6. I'd happily have him in the team to bowl 3 overs, 2 at the death and field superbly.

I wouldn't pick Jordan for ODIs though.
