you can't sustain an onslaught over 19 overs with only two halfway competent players left in the shed. better to keep rotating the strike and have a shorter but intense go at this.

150 after 30 approx is perfect. unfortunately it's not the magical 150/2. they're on target doing what they're doing, they just can't get out.
Yeah agree.

Probably need a ATG knock here.
Dhoni's chance of immortality here
Yeah if India win his/Rahane's innings would be up there with the GOAT ODI innings.
Difficult to go higher than Wankhede 2011 I would think.
If Dhoni tons up and pulls this off here on his own it will almost certainly be the greatest innings of all-time.

He's an ODI immortal regardless. The best finisher of all-time undoubtedly.

Yeah but Australia's weaker bowlers are getting away with easy overs. Its tougher to score 10-11 an over against Starc and co.

india will probably need a bunny cameo too. the equation is pretty much the same as the third 2007 chappell hadlee where fulton quickfire 50, macka ton and baz big not out still wasn't quite enough to rescue 40/4.

it needed a mark gillespie french cut extravaganza.

so yeah if india win this you guys are going to need a lie down.

India are ****ed != impossible. They were ****ed for sure. It's not a knee jerk post. Dhoni is not a god - he's basically never done it from 20 overs on without help (ignoring the times he came in at #3 early in his career).

Ignored.

it's even tougher to score 10-11 an over against starc and co if ashwin and jadeja are batting

the best tactic for a big chase is wickets in hand after 30 overs and well...

DUDE, they are already at 10 and over, its game over already unless India have a Australia like PP without losing a wicket.

India should aim for 12/over in the last 10 with 6 in hand.. which means they just need to focus on run-a-ball for now.
