***Official*** English Domestic Season 2014

Golden blob for Plunkers and the plug is pulled.

Right call to take that new cherry, it would seem. Still you'd take 589/8 at the Riverside in early May 10 times out of 10.

Tim Ambrose such an asset to have back. Especially with our tail all being useful bats. Brilliant partnership between Wright/Tim, scored at a good pace. Means that we will get two new balls before they are past our lead in all likelihood.

Return of the lightmeters!

Also so good to see Leicestershire batting well this season, 235-2 at the new ball. Not at full strength either.

Missed all the first two days, great to watch some cricket in England again. Feeling nostalgic for 2007/8 watching Sidebottom.

Plunkett looks pretty much the same bowler he was a few years back. Not seeing proof of this extra yard of pace, still sprays it around with little control of line or length. Isn't taking his wickets at particularly great numbers either, so hopefully he won't be anywhere near the England side anytime soon. Bres and Sidey were awesome first up though, love watching Sidebottom bowl. Didn't look much different this morning than he did when he was in the England side, maybe slightly less pace than he used to have, but only a couple of mph.

Wouldn't think Plunkett is anywhere near the thoughts of the selectors. Decent county player but not an international.

Was in the performance squad over the winter, and Giles just said on commentary that they were looking at him. Clearly not good enough though.

Big, big wickets. Richard Jones looks a useful addition so far, solid with ball and stuck around well with the bat. Winning this game with all the players we have out would be outstanding.

Yorkshire strike either side of tea so should manage to enforce the follow on if they utilise the new ball well enough.

Since tea/rain break 23 balls 0 runs 1 wicket. Bowl dry, get rewards. Jones/Jeets working well in tandem.

Sometimes you feel Comms should really choose their words better. Apparently Rashid has deserved that wicket. There's poor Bres and Sidebottom flogging their guts out on an unresponsive deck for hours, beating edges getting snicks, Adil runs in 3rd ball up of a new spell and Wood drags a ball on from outside off. Yes thoroughly deserved.

TBF he has bowled okay, certainly better than I thought he would after looking at his figures over the last year or so.

Richards Jones 9 straight overs 2 for 14 after tea. Brilliant spell. We've been good at nicking players just as they develop into really good county champ players in recent year. Hope we've found another here.

New ball hopefully can polish them off now.

I mentioned it and was told it was a stupid idea. The fact is we have no real test class option outside a firing Panesar and there has to be doubts as to whether he will be the bowler he once was.

Yeah its not a stupid idea. Monty has 6fer today though so maybe he is getting back to form.

Rashid at 7 with Prior at 6 an interesting idea. Means you can go with four seamers as well.
