Who can stop South Africa?

Ajmal didn't frighten anyone to death the track was turning like a washing machine. RP bowled Ajmal around his legs and he is a part time spinner! Yes we can get rolled over for cheaply on a track that favor the bowlers but we can roll out the opposition for cheaper considering we have AB de Villiers who is our keeper who provides the team with depth in the batting line up and batting deep down and one of the best 4th innings grafters in the game today with Smith.

So the team is balanced and have depth and after the 3rd test they are going to take a nice break from test cricket while the rest of the world is bowling their players into a pulp.
But Ajmal isn't the first spinner to do that, Hereth spun rings around Sa aswell to win a test recently, so clearly there's issues there, SA are doing well and are clearly best team around, but until you win in Asia question marks will still remain.

No way will India beat South Africa anywhere
Why not? for me they only lost to England because Monty and Swann were on fire, they weren't rolled out by pace, SA don't have that in their arsenal, put em on a road and make em bat last when it starts turn then who knows what could happen? :D

Why not you ask? Because India's bowling is ****ing appalling. SA's pace attack has quicker bowlers and England basically beat India using 3 bowlers.

Yeah India can win a Test here and there but a series is pretty much out of the question at this stage.

They are very good but at the moment they benfit due to lack of decent competition. If you look at the 11 Elgar does not inspire confidence yet, Faf though had a great start but is still unproven and does look green against quality spin. Alviro and Robin are servicble cricketers capable of having decent games every now and then but not what you call world class. They have a pace attack which rivals some of the best pace attacks of all time and a middle order of Kallis, Amla and AB will be world class in any era but there are still holes which stops them from being an ATG side.

That is so far from the truth it isnt funny

Steyn will be an ATG

Philander has had an amazing start to his career but appears innocuous when on decent batting tracks

Morkel, considering the tools at his disposal, continues to disappoint

Behind them there is bugger all

An attack cannot hope to be called great when a very ordinary Oz batting lineup can slaughter you in 2/3 tests

What's more, in Adelaide, they went for 480 on day 1!

That is ridiculously bad

Philander injured. Kallis injured. Steyn had a niggle which he carried and he was only 100 percent for the third test. Morkel took the most wickets in that series and apart from the flat tracks of the first two tests playing with a man short we won the series didn't we? Inside 4 days.

Let me put it like this.

South Africa have now dismissed their opponents without even allowing them the token applause for reaching 50 on three occasions in their past 17 Tests and 32 innings.
That is the same number of times as the entire planet managed to bowl out an opposition for under 49 in the 1560 Test matches played, and 5659 innings bowled.

Australia would've been 2-nil up going into Perth were it not for the weather in Brisbane and Pattinson's injury in Adelaide

Michael Clarke scored 2 double hundreds in that series, the Australian team broke the world record for the most runs in a test day and Mitchell Starc scored the 2nd fastest 50 (and 14th overall) by an Oz batsman in test history - does that sound to you like they were facing a "great" attack

Sorry but SA are simply the best attack in a very. very ordinary period for test cricket

BTW, dont talk to Australians about injuries - we were down to one fit bowler in Adelaide (alongside 2 that were half fit and another who was crocked after 9 overs) and havent been able to pick from a full complement for years

Sounds like Australia need to embark on some sort of injury management programme, maybe even rotation.

It would be funny if it wasnt so sad

Cummins, who is 19, has played 5 first class matches with one of them being a test match where he destroyed SA

He is generally regarded as being the world's best young fast bowling talent

Since SA, he was picked to play Eng in a meaningless ODI series (broke down after a few overs) and chosen by NSW to play in the Champions League Finals (broke down after a few overs and ruled out for the season)

It is rumoured that he will be taken on the Ashes tour to play a test or 2 with no game time under his belt

Pattinson, who is 22, has beaten up NZ, India and SA in one test but has spent more time off the field than on it

Word is that he will be selected for the first test vs India despite having no real game time next to his name

Starc, who is 23, has a test s/r of 49 and may turn out to be the best of the lot

He has already been rested when fit after taking 14 wickets in his 2 previous tests

If that is rotation, then you can shove it

They are doing what the great Aussie side did by winning games even when not playing that well for periods. Sign of a bloody decent team. Can they keep it up for a long run at the top though?

SA must be pretty good because they're attracting a crowd determined to prove they're not very good, much like England did when they were number one.
