hi manee,Steyn has been timed at 97.4mph, but I reckon that he won't even approach that until he starts playing limited overs cricket again.
speed guns sometimes so haywire, steyn has ability to touch 150 but nothing more,he does not have the build for thatIt was 161kph and that was not supported by the two support guns and so was refuted but Steyn's reading was obviously supported by such otherwise it would not be so widely regarded as Steyn's quickest ball.
still i have never seen him bowling consistently over 145,he may have bowled a beamerThree speed guns, which is the norm, do not all go haywire and register the same reading. If they did, skysports would not have accepted it as his top speed in the pre-match build up.
you mean english domestic criket everybody clocks 90 miles there i sawI saw it on TV, it was a half volley for Essex (IIRC).
Was my thought upon reading the thread. I can't imagine many will be quicker, presuming Tait does get back into the game.I'd say Tait if he's fit and playing.
Incredibly depressed? I heard nothing about that. I thought he just needed a break from the game, was finding the lifestyle exhausting etc. Fair enough, he can do what he likes. Was disgusted by Boycott's comments on his 'lack of character'.Pretty sure it was a sign that he was incredibly depressed, actualy.
As for the pace argument, I've heard people say Steyn but i've never seen him bowl quicker than Lee or Tait have done,
Particularly given the sympathy he'd expressed for Trescothick when he fell to a similar plight.Incredibly depressed? I heard nothing about that. Debatable, IMO. Tait certainly has some rare skills (95mph inswingers - to both right- and left-handers - is not something that many batsmen will keep out for too long) but he also has a good few considerable flaws. Inaccuracy (wild inaccuracy of times) and injury-prone-ness are a couple.I quite like Shaun Tait, has to the potential to be seriously good, would love him to play for England, we could do with someone like him.
Asif seems to have been getting faster and faster lately.
Hang on........
Dont you worrry my dear. Have faith in PCB. They will do nothing to deny the game of cricket. Asif's fastest is still to comeAsif seems to have been getting faster and faster lately.
