Fastest bowler in the world today?

FRAZ

International Captain
Tait isn't playing and what a shame . I believe in his bowling and his ability to even surpass Shoaib Akhtar in the history books . I believe that Shoaib Akhtar (eventualy if he does make a come back) is still the fastest followed by Lee .

The way Tait took time off from cricket is a sign of quality and Australian cricket supremecy . I mean how many people will do that . No one can even touch the Australian cricket standards in coming 20 years .

Nah it's a sign of Shaun Tait feeling like putting his feet up.

Shaun Tait has been named in the squad of 30 to tour, but 15 need to be omited and because he hasn't been playing recently I think he may be one of those 15.

Steyn probably

It's not Lee, he's still very quick but has lost pace (which is fine mind you as he's swinging the ball and as accurate as ever)

Haven't seen Tait in ages so cant say..

Not Terrible
Seen him hit in the high 150's to early 160's vs. Aussie in the Test series though. Definitely bowls within himself, a bowler who realises pace isn't his most potent weapon.

Good question. Since Shoaib is grappling with his fitness, attitude and extraneous factors, it would probably come down to Brett Lee, Dale Steyn and Shaun Tait. In ODI's, Tait has, on average, been quicker than Lee. Steyn is quick, but I haven't seen him bowl over 155 km/h+. I will have to say Tait, then, despite my not rating him in general.

I think Brett Lee could still bowl at extremely high speeds if he wanted to. But ever since he stopped he's been an infinitely better bowler.

I'd say Tait if he's fit and playing. He bowled a few balls in ODIs last year that were at speeds I'd previously only seen Shoaib hit, and Shoaib ain't doing that no more, even if anyone wanted to give him a game, whereas Tait could still quite probably top 160kph again in the future. Lee was very close to Shoaib, but as noted, isn't quite as quick as he used to be.

I've never seen Malinga bowl faster than low 150s, so I'd say Tait has him covered comfortably in that regard.

i see brett lee has lost alot of pace.

im going for shaun tait

what about you?
Though Lee has lost his pace but he is still fastest considering the fact the Shoaib is out almost forever. I don't think that he would be able to come back again. Tait is quick too but let's see what he does after his recovery from injury. At the moment its Lee in my opinion.

Well Lou Vincent and Marcus Trescothick did also...

Pretty sure it was a sign that he was incredibly depressed, actualy.

As for the pace argument, I've heard people say Steyn but i've never seen him bowl quicker than Lee or Tait have done,

Steyn has been timed at 97.4mph, but I reckon that he won't even approach that until he starts playing limited overs cricket again.
