I have enjoyed the weather, always hurts less being at work when it raining. It can piss off now for a while as only got 3 shifts on in next 11 days.

If it's to rain, it may as well absolutely pour down. Thunder, lightning, minor flooding. Everything. It's fun that way. This sort of light, innocuous but disruptive rain is just dull and boring.

That's what makes England's weather miserable. Just a pathetic half hearted drizzle which ****teases everyone. If this was Chennai the outfield wouldve flooded and there'd be no doubt and everyone could've gone on with their day in peace.

In all seriousness, it's amazing how many major tournaments England have hosted like this in recent years considering how much of a factor the weather is likely to be.

In the past 20 years they've hosted 2 World Cups, 3 Champions Trophies and a T20 WC. In that same period Oz/NZ have only hosted one WC.

Wasn't there an U/19 world cup a few years back where South Africa got knocked out without finishing a game?

I do wonder how much of a financial disaster this rain has been. NZ v IND promised to be a blockbuster.

7.3 overs bowled in 3 matches has been an absolute momentum killer and definitely has impacted teams chances of progressing.

Some countries have gotten lucky. Are we expecting to watch cricket matches during this cricket world cup soon?

Find the outrage in this thread pretty cringe tbh.

The tournament organisers obviously went through the average weather data for extended periods in the past and chose the best possible place and time to host the World Cup so as to ensure minimal rain.

FTR, their predictions were mainly on target too considering it has mainly been drizzling at 2 - 3 cm which is within acceptable margin of error even for the top weather forecasters in the world as a basic wiki search will reveal. It’s a bit unfortunate that negative side of that margin of error can’t support cricket but you can’t blame them for doing their job regarding the weather forecasting.

It’s embarrassing to see people here criticise top level cricket administrators regarding scheduling as a rando illegal stream-wing consumer unless you have superior weather forecasting skills than them and were able to predict washouts they didn’t anticipate (with receipts) or offer better administrative solutions for fixing things instead of just childishly complaining about not being able to watch your muh croquet game.

These are clearly symptoms of entitled consumerism which is a symptom of the alienation in late stage capitalism.

^check out the depressed Englishmen knowing they won't host another cricket tournament here in a million years

If there was any justice in the world the only cricket you'd get from now on is the 100. I'm hoping they move the upcoming ashes here to save that being ruined too

FTR my favourite World Cup location is England. It just feels a bigger more important tournament to win. I also love how its mostly all day games and we dont have to hear about the dew factor under lights (but obviously dew is better than rain) im just bummed by the lack of cricket. RSA-WI, BAN-SL, NZ-IND were all games that I was very curious to see who won.

You’re giving them way too much credit

Organisers simply chose a window between the IPL & Ashes and got unlucky with weather
