I kind of understand Dhananjaya de Silva not being in the eleven - Mendis, Chandimal and Mathews definitely deserve to ahead of him in the middle order there, Gunaratne is averaging 47 in short his Test career so far and therefore doesn't deserve to be dropped, and Dickwella needs to play if they want Mendis and Chandimal at 3/4 - but leaving him out of the squad entirely is very harsh. There's no way he's less likely to make Test runs than Gunathilaka, even as a backup opener if he had to.

According to cricinfo tharanga is playing, not sure how he gets into any test team, definitely de silva should be playing ahead of tharanga?

no they are counter punching very well.Initial breakthroughs by our spinners but they know it will get harder to bat on as time goes on so this is the time to score..

Ervine looking so good out there. Also pleasantly surprised to see that Waller is not just a slogger, has some shots.

Waller's played some awesome-looking innings in him time, but mainly right at the start of his international career. He completely lost it with the bat for ages and only seemed to be able to get any sort of form back by slogging, but somewhere deep inside him is an actual batsman.

Great to see Zimbabwe playing well in Sri Lanka, hopefully they can continue being competitive going forward. Better for World cricket we all know. and Hopefully Afghanistan and Ireland can take some inspiration from this too!

Zimbabwe counter punching perfectly, if they can get up to 380ish that would be a competitive total you'd think.

Is this available on any free allowable link or only via dodgy stream?

Zim are going to struggle to take 10 wickets on this pitch unless Cremer bowls very well.

Would be something if they win here. I can't remember the last time they won outside of Zimbabwe or Bangladesh.
