CW's 50 Best ODI Cricketers of all time - 2017 Edition

Red

The normal awards that everyone else has
Hopefully this will prevent someone putting down a joke choice as their no.1 giving him 25 points and bringing him to the top 50 by virtue of that alone. It has happened before with Douglas Jardine getting a top spot on someone's list and thus becoming a top 50 test cricketer.
Pretty handy cricketer Jardine, but wouldnt be in most pundit's top 50s. That's the problem if only a handful of people vote in these types of things.

I'm simply sttaing, how is it ok to even nominate them beyond national bias? What if they end up with nominations while better ODI players don't? It's a flawed system and something to be looked at. No one is being confrontational.
You can nominate who you like mate. If people think they're decent picks they'll get seconded. As the great Benny Elias would say, it's not rocket surgery.

If anyone feels there are any better ODI players outside of the 80 odd that have been nominated so far, then please put their names forward

There are a few fine associate cricketers missing (RTD, Tikolo, Asif Karim, Khurram Khan, etc) but it's not like any of them would end up in the top 50, so nbd

Despite what anyone might think about Geoff Boycott, at a time when the openers job was still to see off the new ball and lay the foundations for an innings he was damn good at it. Obviously the batsman who make the Top 50 will predominantly be the latter day tip and run thrashers and I wouldn't really suggest that Boycott should be a top 50 ODI choice. Many of the modern day openers wouldn't have been able to do what they do now 40 years ago when an ODI innings more or less started out like any other without power plays and fielding restrictions.

Well if you're not being confrontational you're being a dick then, so which is it?

How's he being either confrontational or a dick by asking whether it'd be better to just nominate your best players rather than some from each nation?

Seems pretty logical and neither confrontational nor dick-y to me.
