Which is why I think they may have another brainfart with the ashes squad if this series carries on as it looks like it will go.
Fortunately, the Ashes are being played in England so 3 of the bowlers will always be quicks

Oz selectors simply lose the plot when it comes to picking bowlers in India

Yeah but they may do something stupid off the back of this series and leave Siddle out totally and play Johnson. You never can tell what they may do next. They thought Maxwell was a test player after all.

I fully accept we no longer have the stock to dominate world cricket

That's why it's so important to get selection right

Maxwell?

Doherty?

Cowan? How do you play 15 consecutive Tests when you average 31?

It's malpractice, not just line-ball, 50/50 calls that have gone bad

Are you this bad at your fulltime job as Invers is at his?

I'm not
Maxwell's selection is about the worst that I have ever seen as he is nothing more than a bit player for his state

At least Cameron White was a good batsman at the time

I was very optimistic about him at the start of the Australian summer but he's gone backwards.

His past 7 Tests have produced 293 runs at 24. It's a pity because I thought he would be very handy in blunting the new ball in England (particularly after his great form on the Aus A tour of Eng last year and solid form vs SA).

He is very fortunate that Watto is going home, because the only alternative opener left on tour is Hughes (unless they sprung a surprise with Khawaja) and he's in worse form than Ed.

Maxwel 0 for 55 from 10 overs. He actually hasn't bowled that badly he's just completely out of his depth.
Just not a test bowler. Doesn't have the tools to trouble top quality batsmen.

Horrible, windy, wrong-headed selection. Up/down there with Cam White as a specialist spinner.

Bit of a ringer for Ben Hollioake (RIP) tho, but. It's the chins.

This is where Watto and Clarke's injury niggles really cruel us. If we had those 2 to call on to bowl as many overs as necessary our attack would look leagues better. Both of them are perfectly suited to the conditions too.
