Noble One

International Vice-Captain
Changed my mind about 10 times, but I'm selecting Jimmy Adams. A very good batsman at his peak.

I'm about 99% certain I'll go with another batsman at 8. I have enough bowlers with four font-liners plus plenty of backups. I may slip Goddard down the order, but opening was his role.

The Noble Cack Handers

1. Chris Gayle (88 Tests, 6007 Runs @ 40.31, 72 Wickets @ 41.55)
2. Trevor Goddard (41 Tests, 2516 Runs @ 34.46, 123 Wickets @ 26.22)
3. Larry Gomes (60 Tests, 3171 Runs @ 39.63, 15 Wickets @ 62.0)
4. Jimmy Adams (54 Tests, 3012 Runs @ 41.26, 27 Wickets @ 49.48)
5. Alvin Kallicharran (66 Tests, 4399 Runs @ 44.43)
6. Sourav Ganguly (113 Tests, 7212 Runs @ 42.17, 32 Wickets @ 52.53)
7. Adam Gilchrist WK (96 Tests, 5570 Runs @ 47.60, 379 Ctch, 37 Stmp)
8.
9. Mohammad Amir (14 Tests, 278 Runs @ 12.63, 51 Wickets @ 29.09)
10. Tony Lock (49 Tests, 742 Runs @ 13.74, 174 Wickets @ 25.58)
11. John Lever (21 Tests, 306 Runs @ 11.76, 73 Wickets @ 26.72)

Greg Mathews was an interesting spinner. He was quite accurate although I haven't studied his econ rate closely, but just from memory. He took that famous wicket to tie a test match of course. But he didn't necessarily get much drift or loop with his deliveries. When I was researching players for this draft I was impressed with his batting average - and he always seemed to find a way to score runs.

I dropped him for Yallop at the last min becoz Matthews couldn't have batted at no.6 being a right-arm bowler
