Worst tactical decision ever
I have to say the worst tactical decision ever i have seen is in the 2005 ashes, 5th test day 2, Australia where 109-0 and they went off for bad light when they knew bad weather was forcasted for day 4 and 5, they should have batted on for another 2 hours on day 2.
What do you guys think. |

Ponting bowling the part timers to Dhoni and the tail during a test in India instead of finishing them off.

This was easily the worst captaincy I've ever seen. I was in support of Ponting being removed from the job for this alone. I honestly wondered if he was in league with some bookmakers when this happened.

Not strictly a tactical error, but no specialist spinner for The Oval test in The Ashes was one of the larger selectorial clangers dropped of late.
Bowling Hauritz and North in tandem at Jimmeh and Monty in the last overs their epic last wicket stand was a mistake, IMHO. Ponting obviously trying to get more overs in, but I reckon six balls of Hilfenhaus would've trumped 12 of North at that stage.

It was, at a minimum, the worst piece of captaincy I have ever witnessed in my cricket watching career.
