Indeed, that's why I thought this thread was the obvious place to post it.

If you understand the ranking system then it's actually quite a logical thing - the 2006 world cup is now wiped from the calculations and since there were a number of teams above England in the rankings who did a lot worse this time than then, they were bound to drop (witness Portugal and Italy falling from above to below, and France who were 1 place behind us dropping something like 13 spots!

Don't be a spoilsport.

It's still a joke England has gone uop in the rankings following their WC showing.

Friendlies count for the rankings too though, and England won all of theirs against some reasonably highly-ranked teams.

Hey Steulen, you really should stop the anti-England stuff, after all your own countries reaction to your defeat seems to be very English, at least from afar

Friendlies count but have a very small weight. Perhaps 1/4 that of a WC game.

I live in Glasgow now, can't help it. And I do honestly think having the current England team as 7th best in the world is a joke.

FTR, you'll have to find another stick to beat me with than my allegiance to Dutch football

Glasgow, my apologies.

Don't get the link, but actually FTR England being seventh is a joke, but TBH, the entire ranking system is a nonsense.
