An interesting title this week, but unfortunately one extraordinary mistake spoils what might otherwise have been a very good book
CRICKET BOOKS
This week Martin reviews an autobiography that will doubtless find its way into the Christmas stockings of many cricket lovers in Derbyshire and Sussex
It’s a while since we have reviewed anything from the ACS, but Martin certainly seems to have found a gem this week
Cricket humour can be brilliant, but seldom transfers well into book form. This one has impressed Archie though, which is no mean feat

As we move back to reviewing bulkier items of cricket literature we begin with a recent release which, it would seem, is quite outstanding
And finally, for the time being anyway, a look at a booklet aimed at Lancastrians of a certain age, which will perhaps hold a slight interest for Essex supporters of a similar vintage
Anyone considering starting a collection of cricketana could do worse than pick up a copy of this little book
Meanwhile back with the pamphlets Martin digs one out of his collection that is decidedly obscure, but not as important as it was when it first appeared nearly four decades ago
We don’t normally review books twice, but a genuine American having joined our ranks, we felt we had no option but to record his thoughts on a history of cricket on his continent that first appeared last year
