Zimbabwe tour goes ahead

Bangladesh’s tour of Zimbabwe in July/August will go ahead after the Zimbabwe Cricket Board finally agreed to a five-match one-day international series.

The first two ODI matches will be played at Bulawayo on July 29 and 30 with the remaining three matches being played in Harare on August 2, 4 and 5.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have expressed their dissatisfaction with the tight schedule, and have asked for their to be a greater gap between matches.

It took a strongly worded letter from the BCB to their counterparts in Zimbabwe for the tour to go ahead on schedule in the first place, with the Zimbabwe Cricket Board wanting to delay the series until September due to internal problems.

A preliminary squad of 19 players is expected to be annouched on 2nd June for a national camp, which is hoped to include some warm-up one-day matches against Kenya before the tour of Zimbabwe.
