Vaughan’s knee injury setback

Michael Vaughan is now likely to miss the whole Test series against Sri Lanka after he suffered a setback in his return from a knee injury.

Vaughan had hoped to make his come back in a C&G Trophy match this coming weekend for Yorkshire, but a piece of bone in his knee joint has created a hole, and until it heals there is no chance of a come back.

Vaughan is making some progress however in that he is now batting in the nets, but is experiencing the most trouble when twisting and turning at pace, when running between the wickets.

The one-day international series against Sri Lanka starts on 17 June with the first ODI at Lord’s, when Vaughan will be looking to make his return to the England squad.
