Vaughan & Jones retain contracts

Michael Vaughan and Simon Jones have retained their England contracts despite being out of the all cricket for most of this year, and both also expected to miss the Ashes in Australia later this year.

The England Cricket Board named 13 contracted players, rather than the 12 from last year, and the changes include Geraint Jones missing out, and Monty Panesar and Alastair Cook gaining contracts.

It is understood that there are three salary bands with the top players earning 250,000 pounds.

England Contracted Players
Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Alastair Cook, Ashley Giles, Andrew Flintoff, Steven Harmison, Matthew Hoggard, Simon Jones, Kevin Pietersen, Monty Panesar, Andrew Strauss, Marcus Trescothick, Michael Vaughan.
