Symonds Suspended

Andrew Symonds has been suspended and fined for two games after he was found to be in breach of team rules by missing team curfew the night before the Bangladesh ODI yesterday.

It was reported that Symonds attended a dinner with seven team mates to celebrate Shane Watson’s 24th birthday and after the others choose to return to the hotel at a reasonable hour Symonds opted to stay on at the restaurant and didn’t return until the early hours the next morning.

Andrew Symonds two match ban includes the match yesterday and the England ODI today and he was quoted in the press conference afterwards saying “I know no-one has to accept this, but I apologise to everyone for what I have done. I know it was the wrong thing and I am very embarrassed.”
