South African tour squad named

The South Africa squad for a two Test series in Sri Lanka next month has been named with Herschelle Gibbs earning a recall after being left out of the final two Tests against New Zealand earlier this year.

Thandi Tshabalala, a 21 year old offspinner from the Free State Eagles has made the South African squad for the first time alongside Nicky Boje in the spin department.

With Jacques Kallis missing the tour because of injury, and Shaun Pollock missing the first Test to be with his wife for the birth of their second baby, Ashwell Prince has been announced as vice captain.

The first test starts on 27th July at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo.
