Sarwan named new WIndies captain

Caribbean media have today reported that Ramnaresh Sarwan has been appointed the new West Indies captain following the retirement of Brian Lara.

CMC Sport released details saying that Sarwan had been handed the job at a meeting of the West Indies Cricket Board.

Sarwan has played 65 Tests and 124 one-day internationals for the West Indies making his debut in 2000.

Sarwan’s first job as captain will be to lead the West Indies on their tour of England starting later next month which includes four Tests, two Twenty20 internationals, and three one-day internationals.
