NZ to continue at Eden Park

The Black Caps will be looking to continue playing at Eden Park during its re-construction for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Auckland Cricket however will lose the Eden Park Outer Oval due to the re-construction and are looking for another home which is expected to be on the Outer Oval at North Harbour Stadium. NZ$20 million has been put aside to help Auckland Cricket in this process.

New Zealand Cricket CEO Martin Snedden told Newstalk ZB that as Eden Park’s re-construction would be done in stages, it would allow for internationals to go ahead in the same way as how it was done with the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Snedden did however add that they may find themselves being unable to use Eden Park for one season.

Details on the re-development of Eden Park can be read here.
