Lara plans return to cricket

West Indies great Brian Lara has said he plans on returning to cricket but won’t be returning to international cricket with the West Indies.

Lara conducted an interview with the Wisden Cricketer magazine where he said “I think I am going to play cricket again. If I go six or eight months without cricket I would lose it and I don’t want to lose it yet.”

Lara ended his career as the leading run scorer in the history of Test cricket with 11,953 runs from 131 matches at an average of 52.88.

“I leave West Indies cricket with my head held high,” he said.

Lara ruled out the possibility of making his return with Lashings with it seemingly more likely that he will follow Shane Warne’s lead in turning to English county cricket.
