Jamie Dalrymple sent home

England have released Jamie Dalrymple from their squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Old Trafford after looking at the pitch conditions.

Dalrymple will now join-up with his county side Middlesex for a Championship match against Durham at Lord’s.

Monty Panesar will therefore keep his place within the team which leaves Sajid Mahmood and Jon Lewis to fight it out for the final position.
