Ganguly called up for MCC XI

Sourav Ganguly has been called into the MCC XI squad to play an International XI at Lords in a tsunami-relief match on June 14th.

Ganguly was called into the squad to replace West Indian Ramnaresh Sarwan who had problems arranging suitable travel arrangements for the match.

Ganguly has been playing county cricket for Glamorgan and recently hit a superb 142 off 125 balls against Kent in the County Championship.

Numerous other Indian players are also involved in the game including VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid.

The two squads are as follows:

MCC squad (probable)
Stephen Fleming (capt), Chris Gayle, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Jacques Kallis, Andy Flower, Kumar Sangakkara, Shaun Pollock, Anil Kumble, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shoaib Akhtar.

International XI squad
Virender Sehwag, Sanath Jayasuriya, Graeme Smith, Brian Lara (capt), Rahul Dravid, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Chris Cairns, Shane Warne, Chaminda Vaas, Mohammad Sami, Makhaya Ntini.
