Franklin to play through injury

Black Cap all-rounder James Franklin will join English county side Glamorgan after all, and will play through his knee injury.

As reported last week by Cricket Web, it was thought Franklin would have to pull out of his county contract with Glamorgan because of a knee cartilage tear.

However, after seeing specialists in Wellington, Franklin was advised surgery wouldn’t be necessary as there was no
problems with his mobilitity and resting wouldn’t provide any benefits to recovering from the injury.

Franklin will however have regular check-ups while in England, and will return home for surgery if the injury gets worse.
