Flintoff: I will be fit

Andrew Flintoff has told media that he is certain starter for the first Ashes Test at The Gabba in Brisbane starting November 23rd.

Flintoff under-went ankle surgery a fortnight ago and came through the operation well according to all involved.

Flintoff told British newspaper The Courier-Mail that he is in no doubt what so ever that he will take the field for the first Ashes Test.

“The ankle is feeling fine. I had the operation about two weeks ago now and it’s going well. I will be fit for the Ashes. I’ll still bowl the same, nothing less.”

It is unclear when Flintoff will make a return to the cricket field, after his management ruled out playing grade cricket in Australia prior to the Ashes.
