Dalrymple called up for 2nd Test

Middlesex allrounder Jamie Dalrymple has been called up to the England squad for the second Test at Manchester starting 27th July.

Dalrymple was the standout performer during the one-day international series against Sri Lanka recently and will be expected to play on what is a spin friendly pitch at Old Trafford.

Andrew Strauss will continue to lead England following Andrew Flintoff’s continued injury problems, while Liam Plunkett is retained despite suffering a side strain playing for Durham yesterday.
