Clarke in doubt for start of WC

Michael Clarke is in the doubt for the opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup after suffering a lower abdominal strain.

Clarke will be rested from Australia’s warm-up matches and is to be reassessed on Monday to see his availability for the opening match of their tournament against Zimbabwe on Wednesday.

Ricky Ponting and Shane Watson are already in doubt for the Zimbabwe match, with Australia currently having only 12 fit players available for selection.
