Clarke called up for the Ashes

Michael Clarke has been added to the Australian Test squad for the first Test of the Ashes due to all-rounder Shane Watson’s injury.

Watson injured his hamstring while bowling in yesterday’s Ford Ranger Cup match between Western Australia and Queensland.

The injury will be accessed by Cricket Australia physiotherapist Alex Kountouris in Brisbane later today with the results due tomorrow morning.

Clarke scored 50 and 68 for New South Wales against England in the recent tour match at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
