Atapattu recall on the cards

Sri Lanka selectors are considering recalling Marvan Atapattu for the two Test match series against Australia starting in November.

Sri Lankan chief selector Asantha de Mel said “We need him in Australia. He has the technique and temperament to stay in. I will talk to him about his availability,” De Mel added. His experience will be very important for the two Tests against Australia.”

De Mel also commented on Sanath Jayasuriya saying the 38 year-old would only be apart of the one-day team. Jayasuriya has failed to make a century in his past 13 Test matches.

The first Test starts against Australia on 8th November.
