Afridi “retires from Tests”

In one of the more surprising pieces of news to filter out of the subcontinent today, Pakistani allrounder Shahid Afridi announced his retirement from Test cricket, in order to concentrate on ODIs ahead of the World Cup in 2007.

Afridi, talking to a Pakistani TV channel, added that he would reconsider his decision following next year’s tournament.
