Afridi handed pitch antics ban

Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been hit by a one-Test and two-ODI suspension following his actions in the middle during the Second Test against England at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

The explosive Afridi, who struck 92 off just 85 balls during Pakistan’s first-innings 462, took advantage of the break in play enforced by the explosion of a gas canister on the edge of the field of play to deliberately scuff the wicket on a spinner’s length.

He will miss the Third and final Test of the Bank AlFalah series at Lahore next week as well as the first two One-Day Internationals, also at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium
