Still a good chance of getting reverse late, as Marc stated, they aren't brand new balls, just balls that are a little harder and much easier to see.

The replacement balls sometimes reverse much better than the previous ball had been. Seriously tough to get it consistently though.

I watched Lee in an interview saying that the balls that they get after the 34th over are pretty much brand new as some them still have a bit of writing on them, its understood that these balls are just scrubbed by sandpaper so that the lacquer goes off, other than that they are pretty much brand new.

    Except that didn't happen.

He didn't whine about it though.

When no-one was getting the white ball to swing, Vettori was entitled to go to the match referee to make sure nothing dodgy was going on after Gul suddenly got the ball to talk.

The match referee informed Vettori that he had no concerns, which Vettori accepted.

I am not familiar with the incident but if Vettori went to the match referee just because Gul got it to reverse swing earlier than his bowlers and with no proof, that is pretty poor form. The match referee will inform if anything dodgy happened, you don't go and check just because the other guy got it to swing.

It was after 13 overs, that surely is cause for concern as it fricken never happens usually.

Bat out of the crease and play the ball late.

In a T20 tournament where no-one is getting the white ball to swing and Umar Gul is suddenly getting the ball reversing after 13 overs, Vettori's perfectly entitled to ask the question.

A lot of things are perfectly fine (including excessive appealing, some would say even sledging, not walking when you know its out and the umpire makes a mistake) but it does reflect poor spirit.
And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

No he isn't. That shows he has not seen people doing it or having ulterior motives.
Even a relatively new ball can be reverse swung if bowled at right pace. Malinga gets it to go around 15 overs, and he gets banana inswing even in T20s. Gul getting it to swing in 13th over is nothing extra ordinary.
