A classic German result last night - lose a player after thirteen minutes, outplayed by a better side, still win.Ruthless German efficiency. Jerry and the French manage 11/14 pens; over twice as good as us and the Swedes.
Seems about right.
I was trying to explain to my daughter the other day why I reckoned that Germany would beat Spain as and when they met in the knock-outs. Basically along the lines that Germany would defend much better than the sides that Spain were annihilating in the group stage and, noting that Spain conceded a goal or two even against those sides, that Spain would concede a goal or two against Germany. Naturally my teenage daughter wasn't having any of it, given that her dad knows half of nothing about anything. But we'll see on Wednesday night.A classic German result last night - lose a player after thirteen minutes, outplayed by a better side, still win.
They'll be knackered for the Spain match though.
Ignoring the penalty count, Sweden's 4-1 win against 10 person Germany and said's subsequent performance against France does put our performance against Sweden look a wole lot better than some people were saying at the time.Ruthless German efficiency. We were out played by France though. Think the top sides are all very similar.Ignoring the penalty count, Sweden's 4-1 win against 10 person Germany and said's subsequent performance against France does put our performance against Sweden look a wole lot better than some people were saying at the time.
It's fun to troll your pedantry sometimes, but the fact we can't analogize between power/strength output to mass and it's obviously recognized relation in one sport, to see it would apply to another requiring power/strength output, is a bit next level. No, I'm not interested in talking about boxing, nor does it have anything to do with what's being discussed here.
Penalties scored on the rebound might be the worst type of goal. Shouldn't be allowed.New tactic there - missed penalty as a self assist.
Not sure what they Italians have to complain about - the defender literally fell on top of the England player in the box.
Pleased for you, but 'questionable' my arse unless they're playing rugby. Incidentally, I subsequently learnt that the player who conceded the penalty was the same one who missed that chance from the edge of the six yard box to put Italy 2-0 ahead near the end of normal time.Italians losing to a late 'questionable' penalty makes me happy after the 2006 Lucas Neil fiasco.
Oh I agree it was a bang on pen, some people screaming questionable etc just makes it that little bit sweeter, even if it is England winning, I'm somewhat conflicted either way.Pleased for you, but 'questionable' my arse unless they're playing rugby. No one wants to play full back because it's such a weird position to make your mark in. It's very hard to coach a group of Norwegian athletes, we struggle to listen and are brash due to living so far away from each other@Magrat Garlick why did Guro play left back the other day? I know you struggle for defenders but what a monumental waste.
