Who is the most durable pacer of all time?

DrWolverine

International Vice-Captain
Kapil Dev

At time of his retirement :
1. Most Test matches played
2. Most wickets in test cricket
3. Most balls bowled in test cricket
4. Most one day matches
5. Most wickets in one day cricket
6. Mostly balls bowled in one day cricket
7. Scored 5000+ Test runs
8. Scored 3700+ one day runs
9. Bowled an average of 210+ balls every Test
10. Never missed out a single match due to injury

At time of his retirement, Kapil bowled 27000+ balls in test cricket. The next best among fast bowlers was Hadlee with 21000+ balls.

At time of his retirement, Kapil bowled 11000+ balls in one day cricket. The next best among fast bowlers was Imran with 7000+ balls.

What makes this even more impressive is Kapil often bowled in the spin pitches of India and no other pacer in India took 100 test wickets.

Good one. How about Walsh?

Lancelot Bromac.

At 14 years of age and boasting an array of records for his longevity in the caper, Lancelot Bromac has developed a sizeable following of fans across his lengthy career.

After four runs across August and October of last year where he did not finish better than fifth, Lancelot Bromac’s trainer and part-owner Stewart Dickson made the tough call to retire the gelding with 551 starts and 34 victories to his name.

He holds the record for most ever career starts in Australasia for a standardbred.

Gotta be Walsh. iirc the last pacer also consistently playing county. By some margin the highest non English wicket taker in FC. As well as the largest number of balls bowled in FC by a non English pacer (Bedi I believe has the most for a non English bowler)

Hadlee had a long career too (longer test career than Walsh). Did he have any breaks due to injuries?

And there's James Anderson of course

Fred Trueman apparently bowled 99,701 FC balls, not bad for a guy who was extremely fast for the majority of his career. The Greyhound Brian Statham managed 100,955 FC balls. Alec Bedser managed 106,062 but of course, being a 120s pacer helped vs Statham (135+) and Trueman (140+).

Did Walsh suffer injuries? Can't recall.

Those are crazy numbers. But Trueman I recall did suffer injuries.
