both have basically played and won 2 series each.

It's close but I'll go with Steyn for now.

Morne Morkel especially in that 2012-2013 series bowled in some of the flat pitches against the likes of Prime Clarke,Hussey and Warner and outbowled his fellow mates Steyn and Philander.

Well the title is wrong it should say most successful visiting bowler to Australia.

The 3 best bowlers in Australia since Ambrose are clearly McGrath, Warne, and Murali although the latter was very UNsuccessful in Oz.

tough to say, Dale Steyn went up against Phil Jaques and got his butt kicked, but Bumrah didn't even bowl to Jaques.

How many matches is enough for a bar though? Abbott only played 2 games in Australia.

The list by bowling average of all bowlers (pace and spin) touring Australia since Ambrose's last game in Perth in 1997. Gives you a top 5 of Kyle Abbott, Kuldeep Yadav, Scott Borthwick, Jasprit Bumrah and Shoaib Malik if there's no minimum games played filter.

Guptill, Ryder, and Aaron Redmond all averaging 25 or below with the ball in Oz
