5.Siddle

Southee is only 22 and averaged 20 odd with the ball in ODIs last season so he will be a much improved test bowler.

Siddle has his faults, however his record and highlights reel is decent after only 23 games. No idea why the mockery.

Why the lolz at Siddle? He's pretty decent.

That was slightly toungue-in-cheek. Don't think that Siddle is a terrible bowler at all, but I really don't think he'd do a Khan or an Anderson either. :)

If Ryan Harris lasts long enough, I reckon he'd be the finest Aussie bowler of this era. The man's actually got a very good bowling acumen and some real ball skills. I wish I could say that about Siddle and MJ.

I am surprised nobody mentioned Ravi Rampaul. After being ordinary for so much time, he so far had a very good 2011 and he has improved tremendously.

Awesome call!

Rampaul bowled some of the best new ball spells I saw this year from a non-Englishman.

I don't think any of them will ever be absolutely world class but if I was to pick one of the bowlers it would have to be Stuart Broad.

Edwards and Gul don't look like the type who are going to be any more than solid test cricketers. I've never really liked Ishant's style so no point in me voting for him and Siddle faces a difficult time getting enough opportunities in the Test team.

Just on Siddle, he's got the best average out of the 5, so I don't know why some people are laughing at his inclusion.

Siddle's a decent bowler. He still isn't that great, which is why he'll remain inconsistent, but I still think he might be a quality test bowler.

The very same problem all of the named bowlers face.

Jerome Taylor is another bowler who may turn things around.

Broad the most likely IMO. Has everything going for him as far as attributes, abilities, and team set-up are concerned.

as expected the best post in this thread comes from Outswinger. Completely agree with him.

Agree about Ravi Rampaul. He was really good against Pak and India this year.

After all this time and it's the West Indies who produce a decent Indian pacer, lol.

the last one is the key i think.

None of the 5 mentioned seem ATG material to me (like Steyn for e.g.). However Broad being in a team where he will get a lot of support probably tilts it in his favor.
