it’s funny
when making this post i thought to myself “hey wait didn’t they declare and lose one? better peep it and check” and read the wikipedia page for the entire series wire to wire and still obliviously missed that yes that did happen. bodes great regarding my memory and foresight but equally it bodes terribly for my proofreading. good thing i don’t have a job where people’s liberty hinges on my attention to detail and cognate skills!

To be fair, England losing an opening Ashes test after declaring under 400 is an absolutely insane thing to have happened. My mind kind of refuses to believe it was real too.

Thank God England lost that test. Otherwise that moment of extraordinary stupidity would have been celebrated as another win for bazball.
