West Indies Domestic Season 2008/2009

Woodster

International Captain
Pleased to see Donovan Pagon make a few runs (69) in Jamaica's practice game. Really hope he makes much more of an impression this year.

A summary of Bravo's comments about his plans for a return this season:

Has not set a specific date. Wants to make sure tha he is fully ready to play, and not having to worry about reinjuring the ankle. Will play for his club first...and only when he is 100% fully fit. Hopes to then get back to the T&T team and WI team if selected before England departs the Caribbean. He said nothing about the IPL
And the recovery:

Is ongoing....he is at 90% and most importantly pain-free. Will see his doctors on Friday (january 9th)and should get the go ahead to start physical work and light running...says that he has done no physical activity since surgery

Jamaica FC squad:
Pending the availability of West Indies players currently in New Zealand, the full squad consists of Brenton Parchment, Danza Hyatt, Horace Miller, Donovan Pagon, Tamar Lambert, Wavell Hinds, David Bernard, Keith Hibbert, Odean Brown, Gavin Wallace, Andre Russell, Jason Dawes, Andrew Richardson, and Lorenzo Ingram.
Odean Brown, Gavin Wallace, Andrew Richardson, Andre Russell, Jason Dawes, Horace Miller, Brenton Parchment, Danza Hyatt, Donovan Pagon, Wavell Hinds, Tamar Lambert(c), David Bernard and wicketkeeper Keith Hibbert are the 13 against the Leewards. Ingram was to fly out too but due to a misunderstanding stayed home and is on standby while the rest of the team plays the away games. Ingram and the other players not in St Kitts will be doing some stuff with Jimmy Adams.

Leewards looking good, suprised to see Barath duck, Ganga making runs already, like i said before my pick for the competition has to be T&T, but then again T&T was my pick last time and look what happened then.

Hasn't done well against Barbados and Jamaica has Barath.

Good to see Darren Bravo get runs brilliant prospect along with Guillen in batting department, Omari Banks is kolpack isn't he?

Just checking some cricinfo stats, never knew Barath was so young, T&T harboring a really young side, bar Ganga who isn't really that old. Bravo, Guillen, Barath and S.Ganga are all really young though good to see. T&T players arn't allowed to go kolpack to so all players are playing for international spaces as well as regional pride. Sort of the opposite to the Barbados squad really.

Beamer

International Vice-Captain
Daren Bravo 59 not out at close of play in Barbados, having been at the crease for 150 deliveries. This is a good sign, lets hope he goes on to get a century.

didn't know he'd been there for 150 deliveries... has a better temprament than his bigger brother.

He is a very promising shot maker who usually goes for it too early in his innings at FC level, but he has been working hard on his concentration and it appears to be working.
