The Inaugural World Test Championship

If Aus, England or India happened to get relegated, test cricket would be over.

I quite like the fact that we are still undecided who's yet to make the finals. England still have a chance and all to play for. The WTC has definitely added lot more context to the test matches. Maybe we are already in finals is what makes it feel that way. Maybe supporters of other teams that have no chance whatsoever may feel differently.

Will never happen in case England or Australia gets demoted and they can't play the Ashes.
There are Test nations that do not participate in the World Test Championship right now, therefore the Ashes series, which have a history outside of the WTC, can be organised and played outside of the WTC, in the event either or both England or Australia were relegated out of the WTC. Also I want the there to be a proper reason to re-instate the Intercontinental Cup as a staging post for nations that are 'next' in line for s shot at playing test cricket

both sets of bowlers licking their lips. nz can't hide from the indian pace attack behind no one understanding what length to bowl with a kookaburra in nz, and nz get a go at the indian batsmen who hate sideways movement with the easy mode ball.

How far are we from the day when pitches are prepared in two halves, each according to the preferences of two competing teams?
