Two of the three great legspinners of ODI cricket. Both were very attacking bowlers, colorful characters. And both sucked against India. Warne was in elite competition from some very good ODI spinners in his day. However Qadir was the lone man in 80s who was an attacking ODI spinner.

Warne 194 matches, 293 wickets @ 25.73 SR 36.3, ER 4.25
Qadir 104 matches, 132 wickets @ 26.16, SR 38.6, ER 4.06

By mere impact, I’d say that it has to be Warne.

A spinner with the mentality of a quick bowler.
Have seen this line quite a few times. Genuinely want to know what it is.

What is the mentality of a quick bowler and how different is it to the mentality of a spin bowler?

Lots of fast bowlers implicated in assault cases

Ntini, Shami, Stokes, Roy Gilchrist, Kuggeleijn. Rubel

Can only think of Amit Mishra and more recently Slater from the non-quicks

even Qadir's own mother won't pick him ahead of Warne/Murali/Saqlain or even Kumble even in one day cricket , Qadir made those stats via Bashing a minnow Sri Lanka and a minnow Bangladesh , taking 38 wickets against them at 15.5 average , you take those out and his average is like 30.7.

disagree. qadir consistently picked himself over any other spinner including warne/ oreilley/murali/laker/grimmett - who should be the five greatest spinners in history.

Unrelated fact to this thread post retirement Qadir was an underrated guy in Pakistan cricket. Young boys like Babar Azam and Naseem Shah trained at his academy free of cost as they could not afford to pay and were even regularly provided cricketing gear without any charge so their training doesn't stop due to lack of resources.
